Where is the festival being held?
Our main Grand Tasting will be held at the The Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax on the evening of October 5th. Our other events including our celebration of local craft spirits, Tides and Tastings (October 3) at The Westin, Women of Spirit brunch (October 5) at Fawn Restaurant, and master classes (October 4 & 5) will be hosted at various locations in Halifax. How much do tickets cost?
Prices vary depending on the event. Our Grand Tasting is $80 for General Admission and $95 for our extended VIP session. Our other events are priced on a per event basis. Please check our FESTIVAL page for event details and prices.
Is there food at The Grand Tasting?
For our Tides and Tasting and Grand Tasting events we will have a selection of light bites. However, these are light bites and not to be considered a full meal. Our dining event on Friday, October 4 will be a full meal with various taste stations.
What do I get for the price of admission ticket?
VIP guests will receive, in addition to an extra hour to taste, a special Glencairn glass to use and enjoy as a keepsake.
Are there glasses?
Not to worry, if you are not a VIP ticket holder. We will have plenty of small, tapered ISO wine glasses to use at the event for both VIP and General Admission ticket buyers.
What time is the event?
Our Tides and Tastings event runs from 6:30-9:00 PM. The Grand Tasting is from 7:00-9:00 PM. The VIP Session begins at 6:00 PM.
Is there a dress code?
While there is no dress code, we anticipate our Halifax International Spirit Festival to have a lively, celebratory atmosphere. As such, we recommend dressing accordingly, but we are not fashionistas, so dress as you see fit.
Is there coat check?
We will have a coat check available for jackets and oversized bags. All proceeds from the coat check support our charity partners.
Is parking available?There are a variety of parking options in the area. Please keep in mind parking is not included with the entrance ticket to the Grand Tasting, or our other events. We also strongly recommend using alternate ways to get to the event. Please do not drink and drive.
How do I know what is being poured at the event?
In the weeks leading up to the event we will post a link to our official list of products being poured at the event.
Is there a special room rate?

I want to attend a Master Class or dining event. Are these including with The Grand Tasting ticket?
No, they are not. Tickets to each event are sold separately. Check our FESTIVAL page for details. I bought a ticket but can't make it to the event.
Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, tickets are not refundable but are transferable. We are sure you will have no trouble finding a friend (s) who wants to attend. We anticipate a sold-out event so there should be lots of demand.
Age restrictions?
You must be 19 years of age to attend. Purchasing a ticket is not a guarantee of entrance. Our security team will ID anyone they suspect may be under the age of 25 to ensure no one enters the festival that is not of age.
Will there be non-alcoholic options?
Yes. There will be a limited number of non-alcoholic options at the event.
